All checks went out about one month after the tournament, so it most likely got lost in the mail or something. I’ll look into this and email you.
Personally, what really pissed me off were those stupid black mats in the featured playing area. I had opponents running around behind the table, which is completely legal. but it would cause the mats to shift and move the table in the process. Those mats were a huge oversight on the behalf of the organizers.
These mats were not our idea. The production crew proposed them, and it turned out we did not really understand what they were proposing. There was definitely some oversight on our end as well with respect to these mats, but it was not our original idea. I assure you this will never be a problem again with any of our events.
We’ve had NBPL ID cards and membership benefits on our to-do list for a while, so they will get done at some point, most likely later this year.
The Flamingo has hand sanitizer all over the place in the halls and often in convention space. Look for the blue globe-like things along the walls.
yeah i took my preparations a step further and got a flu shot this last weekend.
i don’t know if it will help or not. Guess we’ll see.
Too bad it takes 2+ weeks for your system to build up immunity after you get the flu shot. That’s why I got mine about 8 weeks ago.
Put it in a box and cut holes for the handles.
And so it can breathe . . .
We’ll have good commentators. Here is one of them that is confirmed:
My biggest concern is if its 25 bucks a person, shouldn’t the prize be higher then 1k, or will it go up with more entries?
The problem here, which I suspect you are overlooking, is that beer is included, which we obviously have to pay for.
We have a lot more important things to focus on besides the forum right now, but we hope to have time to put some focused energy towards it sometime next year.
While we prefer people to checkin by 9 PM or so on January 1, you can checkin the morning of the 2nd between 9:30 and 10:30 or so. We certainly don’t want people to pay extra money or be inconvenienced to get there the 1st if circumstances don’t make it ideal.
No one is going to feel confident when you lose by 4-7 cups.
They’ll feel confident – confident they are not going to win.
Mr Kenny Jennings was on BANG BROS..also Corey Sandoval and Mike Haro (the agony within)
He traveled from Chicago to LA for it???
He lives out there now (pretty sure, anyway).
I think some of you are suggesting the East versus West is something it is not. Draw a line down the middle of the country (e.g., the Mississippi River). If you are on the west, you’re in the West; if you are on the east of the river, you’re in the East. The midwest falls into one of these two categories – figure it out.
Im curious to see what B/D/S think about it….I would really like this event to happen but it seems like there are a bunch of different opinions/options about how to run this.
I have not given it much thought. We intended to think more about the East vs. West format later (even though I recognize Skinny prematurely asked the question about the format).
Most people overlooked the first issue we were trying to get perspective on, namely, (1) would people prefer East vs. West (or something similar) to remain on January 1 and Singles remain on January 2, or (2) would people prefer to put the Singles tournament on January 1 and move the East vs. West?
If we do the "best of" how would the regions be divided??
We’d have to figure that out, but we obviously would not include Canada, since it really is not even a country.
